1. Statement of Intent
Andrew Laws Associates Ltd, trading as Yeseo.io, is committed to ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of our employees, contractors, visitors, and any other persons affected by our business activities. We recognize our responsibility under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and related regulations to provide a safe and healthy working environment.
Our objectives are to:
- Prevent accidents, injuries, and work-related ill health
- Comply with all relevant health and safety legislation
- Continuously improve our health and safety performance
- Provide adequate resources to implement this policy effectively
2. Organisation and Responsibilities
2.1 Overall Responsibility
Andrew Laws, as the Director, holds overall responsibility for health and safety within the company.
2.2 Day-to-Day Responsibility
Andrew Laws is appointed as the Health and Safety Officer with day-to-day responsibility for implementing this policy.
2.3 Employee Responsibilities
All employees have a duty to:
- Take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others
- Cooperate with management on health and safety matters
- Use equipment correctly and follow safe working procedures
- Report all health and safety concerns promptly
3. Arrangements
3.1 Risk Assessments
- Risk assessments will be conducted regularly by Andrew Laws
- Findings will be reported to all relevant staff
- Action required to remove/control risks will be approved and implemented promptly
3.2 Training
- Health and safety induction training will be provided for all new employees
- Job-specific training will be provided where necessary
- Training records will be maintained
3.3 Consultation
- Regular health and safety meetings will be held to discuss issues and improvements
- Employees are encouraged to raise health and safety concerns with Andrew Laws
3.4 Emergency Procedures
- Fire risk assessments will be conducted annually
- Evacuation procedures will be clearly displayed and regularly tested
- First aid facilities and trained first aiders will be available
3.5 Accident Reporting
- All accidents and incidents must be reported immediately and recorded in the accident book
- Andrew Laws will investigate all incidents and implement preventive measures
3.6 Display Screen Equipment (DSE)
- DSE assessments will be conducted for all workstations
- Appropriate equipment and training will be provided to mitigate risks
3.7 Manual Handling
- Manual handling risk assessments will be conducted where relevant
- Training on safe lifting techniques will be provided to relevant employees
3.8 Work Equipment
- All equipment will be maintained in a safe condition
- Employees will be trained in the safe use of equipment
3.9 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Appropriate PPE will be provided free of charge where necessary
- Employees must use PPE as instructed and report any defects
4. Monitoring and Review
This policy will be reviewed annually or when significant changes in the business occur. We are committed to continuous improvement in health and safety management and performance.
