For this first blog post, I thought it would be a good idea to introduce myself.
So, in case you haven’t met me yet, I’m Bex, bespectacled grammar pedant and spotter of all things slightly wonky. Otherwise known as a proofreader.
Well, that’s what I was before I joined Yeseo. My job title is now Digital Marketing Manager, which doesn’t fully explain my role within the company. I mainly work with the content creation side of things for our clients, but I also deal with lots of different tasks in the process of optimising clients’ websites, including proofreading anything that requires it.
I don’t claim to fully understand the wonderful world of SEO by a long shot. The complex technical stuff is best left to the experts, but I am a curious type of person who likes to know how things work, so I enjoy digging around, asking questions and learning as I go. I do know that a well-presented website with no typos or grammar errors is a good start, though.
Outside of work, I am a musician and songwriter, owner of not enough ukuleles and an out-of-tune piano. My husband is my percussionist and we have played many gigs around the local area as Bex and Freda. If you want to know who Freda is (not my husband!), you will find this information on my website.
The main occupier of my time is my two children and all the stuff that comes with being a parent. To escape from parenting, I like to dive into something creative. I have a sizeable collection of yarn, which I mostly just look at and admire, but occasionally find the time to crochet something with. My latest interest is roller skating, which is a chance to leave the house by myself and do something just for me. I may report back on my progress in future blog posts!
So that’s a little about me in a nutshell. I can’t honestly say SEO was ever something I’d given a second thought to before, so I’m as surprised as anyone to find myself working within the sector. But I’m enjoying the challenge and eager to continue learning while helping our clients achieve their goals.
