We don’t start with your website. We start with your business.
There is a version of SEO that begins with a tool, runs your site through a checklist, and hands you a report full of red, amber, and green scores. You have probably seen it. You may have paid for it. And you are probably here because it did not move the needle.
We do something different.
You have been here before. Or maybe you haven’t.
Maybe you hired an agency. They sent you monthly reports with graphs that went up and to the right, but your phone did not ring any more than it used to. Or they promised page one rankings and delivered a spreadsheet. Or they talked about “domain authority” and “crawl budget” and you nodded along, not entirely sure what any of it meant for your actual business.
Or maybe you have never hired anyone for this at all. Your business runs on relationships and reputation, and that has always been enough. Except there is a quiet question you keep putting off: is that a strategy, or is it just comfortable? You are not sure whether you are being smart or just avoiding something you do not fully understand.
Either way, you are not bad at this. You have just never had someone sit down with you and make the whole thing make sense in the context of your actual business.
Where we start instead
Before we look at a single page of your website, we have a proper conversation. Not a sales call with a deck. A structured conversation about what your business actually does, who it serves, and what your customers say when they are looking for someone like you.
That conversation becomes the foundation for everything. The research, the strategy, the improvements, and the way we report back to you. Your website gets measured against your real business, not against a generic set of best practices.
It sounds simple. In practice, almost nobody does it.
What we look at
We dig into the technical side thoroughly: site speed, how your pages are structured, whether search engines can read and understand your content properly. If something is broken or holding you back, we find it.
But we also look at things most agencies skip entirely.
We examine the gap between how you describe your business in conversation and how your website represents it. Those two things are almost never the same, and the gap is where opportunities hide.
We look at the language your customers actually use when searching, and compare it to the language on your site. If there is a mismatch, you are invisible to exactly the people you want to reach.
And we check whether AI systems, not just Google, can find you, cite you, and describe you accurately. Search is changing. An increasing number of people get their answers from AI assistants before they ever click a link. If your business is not showing up in those answers, you are missing conversations you do not even know are happening.
A word of honesty on the AI part, because this corner of the industry is drowning in hype. We will not sell you an “AI strategy”. We check how AI tools represent your business, we fix the things that can actually be influenced, and we tell you plainly which parts of AI visibility nobody controls yet, whatever their sales deck says. If you can dream it, we will let you know if it can be done.
We do the work, not just the list
Here is the part most agencies quietly leave out: when the audit says something needs fixing, someone has to fix it. Most agencies write recommendations and hand them to someone else’s developer. Then the recommendations sit in a queue, the developer has other priorities, and six months later nothing has changed except the invoice count.
We do the implementation ourselves. The words, the code, the user experience, the conversion. Andrew has been building websites since the late nineties, so the same people who find the problem fix the problem. Nothing gets lost between the finding and the doing.
That covers more than SEO in the narrow sense. We look at whether your site is mechanically sound, whether visitors can actually do the thing you want them to do when they arrive, and whether the words on the page sound like you on your best day. An inbox of filled-in forms isn’t the ultimate goal, making you more money is.
Built around measurable outcomes
Every strategy we implement is built around measurable outcomes, with a clear focus on return. If you want to understand how we think about that, read our plain-English explanation of return on investment.
What happens next
You get a strategic brief written in plain English. Not a dashboard. Not a slide deck full of graphs. A clear explanation of what we found, what it means, and what to do about it, in order of priority.
Every recommendation connects back to what you told us in that first conversation. Nothing is generic. Nothing is filler.
The brief comes with a clear list of prioritised tasks. We handle the specialist work. Some tasks will need your input, because they depend on knowledge of your business that only you have. Everything is mapped out so you know exactly who is doing what and when.
If something in our recommendations is a judgement call, we say so. If something is backed by data from a third-party source, we point to it. We show our working because you have every right to question it.
Who this works best for
We work with owner-managed businesses, typically in the UK, who have had some success already but know they have hit a ceiling. You have the budget for proper SEO. You just need someone who will actually listen before they start prescribing.
You might be weighing this against hiring another salesperson. That is a reasonable instinct. But a salesperson can only reach people they already know exist. Visibility is how you get found by people you did not know were looking for you.
If you want a cheap monthly package with a set number of blog posts and a traffic report, we are probably not the right fit. If what you actually want is closer to thought leadership and strategic positioning than traditional SEO, you are not wrong. Most of what business owners tell us they need does not sound like SEO at all. It sounds like wanting to be known for the right things by the right people. That is exactly where we start. We are a thinking partner, not a pair of hands.
“I have had several great sessions with Andrew who has helped me enormously. He is very knowledgeable and can explain exactly what needs to be done in simple terms that a non-techy person can understand!”

SEO Services FAQs
No, and we would gently suggest walking away from anyone who does. Nobody controls Google, and anyone promising a specific position or a specific traffic number is either guessing or fibbing. What we promise instead: honest measurement from your own analytics data, plain English about what is working and what is not, and the work done properly. That is a promise we can keep.
We do. The research, the words, the code changes, the user experience fixes. Nothing is handed to a mystery team overseas, and nothing lands in your developer’s queue to die. Where a job genuinely needs a specialist we do not have, we say so, and any associate we bring in signs a two-way NDA.
No. We never work with two clients who might be competitors. While you are a client, your rivals cannot be. This costs us money now and then, and it is still the right way to run an agency.
The boring but honest answer is ‘it depends’, and anyone who gives you a precise week number before seeing your website is making it up. What we can tell you: some fixes pay back quickly, content and authority build over months, and we review progress against the task list at agreed points so you always know what has been done and what it changed. You will never be left wondering what you are paying for.
