Is SEO paid or free? Well, up to you really. Whether you’re a business owner or a freelancer, if you’re a freelancer you can work for free if you want, I’m sure that would turn popular. In fact, pro bono work is well worth doing just for kind of expanding your abilities and learning more about SEO.
If you’re a business owner or somebody in a business with the responsibility for marketing wanting to look at SEO, you can do SEO for free. It’s knowledge, it’s not buying a specific set of tools.
In fact, in that way, SEO is a little bit like being a musician – buying expensive tools or instruments won’t actually make you better. That’s the truth, it’s knowledge.
SEO is knowledge and there’s a lot of free knowledge out there. So is SEO free or paid? Up to you. Some of the tools that we use like Screaming Frog, SEMrush, Moz, Ahrefs, all those tools do make SEO faster, but if you haven’t got the core knowledge then they’re not going to be as helpful.
